Skateboarding as an Olympic sport – British women more in favour!

Curling (nicknamed Chess on Ice) was officially recognised as winter Olympic sport in 1998. It is one of many sports to have been added and also discontinued to the Olympics, since the modern games were founded in 1896. One other sport which many are calling to be included in the Olympics is skateboarding, especially after BMX cycling was officially recognised in 2008.
